Dr Münstermann, a Veterinarian of German nationality, has 30 years international experience in animal equine and livestock health. She holds a PhD Degree from the University of Berlin, Germany and specialized in Tropical Veterinary Medicine.
She has worked for many years in Asia and Africa, has implemented development projects funded by international organisations such as the World Animal Health Organisation (OIE), the European Commission (EU), the German Development Agency (GIZ) and the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO).
While working at the Headquarters of the OIE in Paris during 2011 to 2016, she developed, in close collaboration with the Federation Equestre International (FEI) and the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA), the High Health, High Performance (HHP) horse and the Equine Disease Free Zone (EDFZ) concepts, now published in the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code in Chapter 14.6.
She has presented the HHP concept at many international Conferences and meetings, such as at the Regional Conference for Asia in Hong Kong in 2014 and regularly at the IMHC in Hong Kong until 2015.
As an expert in the questions of international horse movement, she has assisted in the implementation of the EDFZ concept for the Asian Games in Incheon, Korea in 2014, the Olympic Games in Brasil in 2016, she was contracted as a consultant by the Turkmen Atlary to establish an EDFZ in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan for the Asian Indoors and Martial Arts Games in 2017 and was contracted by the Directorate General for Livestock and Animal Health Services, Indonesia to establish the EDFZ for the Asian Games, Jakarta and Palembang, 2018.
Dr Münstermann is based in Bonn, Germany and works as a freelance Consultant.
